Chris is a seasoned internet executive with over a decade of experience in the start-up, venture capital and investment banking industry. He has spent the last many years building, leading and investing in internet businesses in Asia-Pacific and Europe, gaining a broad range of expertise from early to late stage. He understands the challenging journey of founders and provides active support in building robust operations with a strict data-driven approach to process optimisation, as well as assembling the high-performing teams required to execute these processes. He also assesses the business strategy and its transferability into an actionable execution plan, to help define clear internal and external stakeholder communication, which ultimately provide the foundation for future fundraising processes and investor relations.
Chris has been in C-level executive positions in a number of internet businesses, leading their growth path from an early stage to large-scale organisations. He held a position as Venture Partner at Nova Founders Capital, a global investment holding and company builder, which he joined since inception in 2012 and has grown to a leading fintech conglomerate in Asia, Europe and LatAm, having raised +USD120m across holding and portfolio companies, from renowned investors such as Goldman Sachs, Peter Thiel and Route66 Ventures.
Prior to this Chris was Co-Founder and Managing Director of Zalora, Southeast Asia’s largest fashion ecommerce company, leading the launch of the business and achieving multi-million dollars in revenue with thousands of orders shipped daily and +2,000 people employed. Before that, Chris was an Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley in the Global Consumer Group in London as well as Citigroup and Greenhill & Co. in Frankfurt, with exposure to a number of global cross-border M&A deals in the consumer space.
Chris holds a double degree in Corporate Finance and International Management from the International School of Management in Germany
