Maree has worked in senior roles in government, economic development, tourism, marketing and business development agencies throughout Australia for the past 30 years.
Between 2016 to 2019 Maree was CEO of the Northern Tasmanian Development Corporation (NTDC) based in Launceston. NTDC is an economic development agency owned by seven local councils in the region. During her time at NTDC Maree developed a new Regional Economic Development Strategy with quality food and agriculture value-adding at its centre; established a Food Network; and advocated for a Green Hydrogen Energy Opportunity for Bell Bay.
Other career highlights include: nine years as Chief Executive of Tourism Northern Territory for the Northern Territory Government; was Deputy CEO for Melbourne Convention and Marketing Bureau; and Director of Marketing for Tourism Queensland.
Maree is currently a share-holder and non-executive director of Meru Foods Pty Ltd, a quality Miso and fermented food producer in Tasmania. She has also served on a local financial services board (Heritage Isle Credit Union) for six years, and is currently Chair of the Heritage Isle Advisory Committee, appointed by the Police Bank Ltd Board in 2017.
Maree is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has served on many government corporation and not for profit boards.
