A kiwi, Rob spent 16 years abroad working for Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERICB), a leading telecommunications equipment and services supplier, present in 180 countries world-wide. This provided broad international commercial experience, with roles as diverse as running major multi-continent technology development projects, to leading the Strategy and Business Development team for Ericsson’s global $15 billion GSM business. Most recently Rob acted as CFO for Ericsson’s Networks business unit, a global $20 billion technology manufacturing and software business, with 20,000 employees.
After moving his family back to NZ, Rob spent 3 years at Spark Digital (formerly Gen-i) as CFO and General Manager, Strategy & Commercial, focussing primarily on resetting the performance of the $600 million IT services business.
Rob founded his own consulting business in 2017, advising executive teams and boards of NZ corporates on strategy, transformation, commercialisation of innovation, finance, and governance.
Rob’s at his best when he’s helping organisations through critical strategic and commercial situations, simplifying complexity to find the optimal path forward, and leading or coaching a team along it. All with a keen eye to maximising shareholder value creation.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Auckland, and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
