Roger Ottenheym

Roger has over 25 years’ experience as a successful CEO, business mentor, and entrepreneur. Roger spent a long time of his career as an executive  for Shell International Petroleum in a variety of commercial and general management positions. He lived and worked in many different countries mostly across the Americas and Europe.

He joined the tech venture firm Softbrasil in 2005, which after a strong period of growth has been successfully sold to a multinational organization. Softbrasil was a small software and industrial automation company which managed to integrate various company data from multiple sources into one real time manufacturing decision platform. This product was so powerful that it started competing with software packages from much larger organizations for very big projects. As part of the sale of the company Roger moved to Schneider Electric in Brazil to lead their Industry Projects division to integrate the newly acquired company.

After the successful sale of SoftBrasil, Roger assumed the role of Chairman and CEO of SmartCube, a modular datacenter design and construction company with headquarters in the US and operations in several South American countries. SmartCube produces some of the world’s most advanced prefabricated datacenters, helping to grow the IT infrastructure of many developing countries. In 2016 SmartCube received the Frost&Sullivan award for the most innovative LATAM medium size datacenter company. SmartCube is still on an accelerated track to become one of the global leaders in its segment.

Roger has held several company board directorships in 8 different countries, and continues to actively support new technology startups and new business ventures globally.

Roger holds a BSc in Chemistry from Leiden University in the Netherlands as well as a MBA from the London Business School. He has 2 children and is a Dutch citizen.
