Scott Lanphere




Scott began his private equity career in Boston in 1987 with Advent international, moving to their new European office in 1991.  He moved to Deutsche Bank’s private equity unit in 1998 and then founded Eaton Gate Capital Partners in 2002.  During his career, he has led or co-led investments across the partnerships in excess of €1 billion, with a combined 59% IRR (KPMG).  Eaton Gate also has an advisory platform that has been mandated on projects valued at over €19 billion.   Sovereign funds, large corporates and family offices such as News Corporation, JP Morgan, TDIC (UAE), and Exor have mandated Eaton Gate to lead and advise M&A and capital-raise projects.  Scott is also the Chief Investment Officer for Luxcite, a premium/luxury goods and services fund with three investments to date.

Industry experience covers media, retail, fintech/paytech, gambling/gaming, healthcare, chemicals, alternative energy and energy storage.  Notable investments include Coral Eurobet, New Look, PrimaCom, and @Entertainment (NASDAQ).  Scott has been a director for over 35 companies residing in the US, Australia, UK, Germany, France and Poland.   He is currently a director of Tuxedo Money Solutions and Phoenix Holdings/iCash/FaceOff.  His finance experience includes the raising of €6.1 billion of debt capital, including nine public debt issuances, among these were the first non- Sovereign debt issuance in Poland (1997) and the first corporate High Yield issuance in France (1999). He was also responsible for two fully-financed public tender offers in Germany and the UK worth €1.45 billion.  Scott is also a long-term Trustee with the Listen Charity, harnessing the power of creative artists, the media and creative industries to campaign for the needs and rights of the world’s vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
